Marta Kahancová Delivers a Keynote Speech at the ADAPT International Conference 2025
Nov. 28, 2025
The ADAPT International Conference 2025 in Bergamo offered an in-depth look at how work and non-work are changing across different sectors and societies.
This year’s edition examined the shifting boundaries between formal and informal labour, the rise of new forms of work, and the implications these developments have for institutions, regulation, and workplace actors.
As part of the conference’s closing plenary session “The Future of Industrial Relations: Collective and Individual Dimensions of Work (and Non-Work)”, CELSI Managing Director Marta Kahancová presented her research contribution Industrial Relations under Pressure: Challenges and Reconfigurations in Europe.
She outlined three clusters of challenges currently reshaping industrial relations (IR) across Europe and illustrated, drawing on recent CELSI and broader research, how different IR systems cope with these pressures. Her keynote highlighted the ways in which institutional, structural, and organisational adaptation are becoming central to the survival and renewal of industrial relations regimes.
The session, chaired by Francesco Seghezzi (ADAPT) and featuring fellow speaker Lisa Dorigatti (University of Milan), formed an important concluding point of the three-day conference “Work and Non-Work, Today”, held from 26 to 28 November 2025 at the Centro Congressi Giovanni XXIII.
CELSI appreciates ADAPT’s commitment to fostering meaningful interdisciplinary dialogue on the evolving world of work and thanks the organisers for hosting a stimulating and thought-provoking event.
